Scape/maisema
Teossarjan työnimeksi muodostui Scape/Maisema. Sarja sai innoituksensa metsän kaltaisesta puistoalueesta johon sukelsin Hollufgårdin residenssissä. Keskeistä teoksissa on ihmisen ja luonnon välinen suhde, johon yhdistyvät paikan kokemukset ja muistot. Nimi Scape viittaa myös pakenemiseen, koen että luontoon tai luonnon kaltaiseen ympäristöön voi ”paeta” muulta maailmalta, se rauhoittaa ja antaa voimia kohdata uusia elämän eteen tuomia haasteita. Esittävyyden sijaan pyrinkin välittämään teoksissani kokemuksen ympäristöstäni, tunteen.
Vietän aikaa ympäristössä, mistä saan lähtökohdat teoksiini. Moni asia, kuten oma mielentilani, minua ympäröivät ihmiset ja elämä yleensä vaikuttavat siihen, että minkälaisiin asioihin mieleni koettavassa maisemassa hakeutuu. Teokset ovat maalattu öljymaaleilla kankaalle.
Scape/maisema
The working title of the series of works was Scape/Landscape. The inspiration is the forest-like park area I dived into at the Hollufgård residency. The central theme of the works is the relationship between humans and nature, which combines experiences and memories of the place. The name Scape also refers to escape, I feel that one can ”escape” from the rest of the world to nature or a nature-like environment, it calms and gives strength to face new challenges that life brings. Instead of representation, I try to convey the experience of my environment in my works, a feeling.
I spend time in the environment, which is where I get the starting points for my works. Many things, such as my own state of mind, the people around me and life in general, affect what kind of things my mind seeks in the landscape I experience. The works are painted with oil paints on canvas.
