Itse teossa -tapahtuma on AvaraTaide ry:n Tampereella luotsaama kaupunkitaidetapahtuma jonka tukikohtana ja näyttelytilana toimi Galleria Ronga. Konsepti osoittautui hauskaksi ja kiinnosti niin taiteilijoita kuin yleisöäkin. Tapahtumaa järjestettiin hieman erilaisista lähtökohdista käsin vuosittain, viiden vuoden ajan 2010-2015. Ydin idea oli että kuvataiteilijat levittäytyivät tapahtuman aikana työskentelemään valitsemillaan tavoilla ja tekniikoilla ympäri kaupunkia ja valmiit tai keskeneräiset teokset koottiin aina päivän päätteeksi Rongaan. Työskentelyä sai seurata kaupungilla tai tulla gallerialle katsomaan prosessien kehittymistä ja valmiita teoksia. Myös gallerialla sai työskennellä, se muuttui projekti- / näyttelytilaksi.
Olin järjestämässä tapahtumaa mutta halusin työskennellä myös mukana tapahtumassa, tästä syystä starttasin ensimmäisenä vuonna töihin aamuyöstä. Piirsin Pyynikin rannassa ja jatkoin työskentelyä saven ja kipsin kanssa gallerialla.

The Itse teossa event is an urban art event led by AvaraTaide ry in Tampere, with Galleria Ronga as its base and exhibition space. The concept turned out to be fun and interested both artists and the audience. The event was organized from slightly different starting points every year, for five years from 2010 to 2015. The core idea was that the visual artists would spread out to work in their chosen methods and techniques around the city during the event, and the finished or unfinished works would always be collected at Ronga at the end of the day. You could follow the work in the city or come to the gallery to see the development of the processes and the finished works. You could also work at the gallery, which turned into a project / exhibition space.
I was organizing the event but I also wanted to work in the event, which is why I started working at dawn the first year. I drew on the shore of Pyynikki and continued working with clay and plaster at the gallery.
