Työskentelin Taiteen edistämiskeskuksen tuella Taidekeskus Mältinrannan grafiikanpajalla syystalvella 2024, aiheena ihmisen ja ympäristön vuorovaikutus.
Vietän paljon aikaa kävellen ympäristössäni, eläydyn maisemiin, tutkin ja tarkkailen miten ne
muuttuvat ja vaihtuvat ajan kuluessa. Intiimi ympäristön kokemiseni on muuttunut ympäristökriisin myötä. Huoli ympäristön tilasta värittää kokemustani oleellisesti muuttaen samalla omaa luontosuhdettani ja työtäni ympäristön kokemuksen parissa. Viime vuosien henkilökohtaiset ja yleismaailmalliset tapahtumat ovat vieneet työskentelyäni yhä enemmän kohti ajan kulumisen pohdintaa sekä ihmisen ja ympäristön vuorovaikutusta. Pohdin teoksissani myös ihmisen tarvetta rajoittaa ja hallita, sekä ympäristöä että toinen toistaan.
Ohessa on koonti Mältinrannassa tekemistäni monotypian vedoksista. Sarjan teokset on kaikki nimetty alustavasti nimellä: Pakeneva maisema.
With support from the Art Promotion Centre, I worked at the Mältinranta Art Centre’s printmaking workshop in autumn-winter 2024, with the theme of human-environment interaction.
I spend a lot of time wandering around my surroundings, experiencing landscapes, exploring and observing how they change and shift over time. My intimate experience of the environment has changed with the environmental crisis. Concern for the state of the environment colors my experience significantly, while changing my own relationship to nature and my work with the experience of the environment. Personal and universal events in recent years have increasingly led my work towards reflection on the passage of time and the interaction between people and the environment. In my works, I also reflect on people’s need to limit and control both the environment and each other.
Attached is a compilation of monotype prints I made in Mältinranta. The works in the series are all tentatively titled: Fleeing Landscape.
