Polku
Näen polun eräänlaisena ajan maisemana, jossa yhdistyy mennyt, tämä hetki ja tuleva. Polut
kertovat myös ihmisen ja muiden eläinten elämästä suhteessa ympäristöönsä, tavoista, käytöksestä
ja kulttuurista. Sarjan teokset ovat saaneet innoituksensa Sääksmäeltä, Voipaalan keskiaikaisilta
poluilta.
Monotypia on yksi grafiikan perinteisistä menetelmistä ja eroaa muista perinteisistä grafiikan
tekniikoista ainutkertaisuutensa puolesta, vedokset ovat keskenään erilaisia. Myös grafiikalle
ominainen sarjallisuus tapahtuu, mutta eri tavoin; monotypian sarjat perustuvat vedostetun laatan
pintaan jääneistä jäljistä, haamuista, jotka jatkavat elämäänsä seuraavassa vedoksessa taiteilijan
määrittelemän tarkoituksen mukaisesti. Ja koska työ, tässä tapauksessa tehdään maalaamalla ja
piirtämällä, jälki on erilainen kuin muissa grafiikan menetelmissä, se lähestyy maalausta.
Path
I see the path as a kind of an landscape of time, combining the past, present and future. The paths also tell about the lives of people and other animals in relation to their environment, customs, behaviour and culture. The works in the series are inspired by the medieval paths in Sääksmäki, Voipaala.
Monotype is one of the traditional methods in graphic art and differs from other traditional graphic art techniques in its uniqueness, the prints differ from each other. The seriality characteristic of graphic art is also present, but in different ways; the series of monotypes are based on the traces left on the surface of the printed plate, ghosts that continue their life in the next print according to the purpose defined by the artist. And since the work, in this case, is performed through painting and drawing, the trace differs from other graphic art methods, it approaches painting.
